Conference Venue
Stuttgart, the host-city of the conference, is one of the economically most important cities in Central Europe, especially in automobile industry.

But furthermore it has also a great building tradition. Structures like the Weißenhof-Estate and the Television Tower of Fritz Leonhard, the first Reinforced Concrete Television Tower of the world, are outstanding structures in architectural and civil engineering history. Moreover prominent structures were constructed in the recent past like Jörg Schlaich’s Killesberg-Tower and the museums of the automobile companies: Mercedes-Benz-Museum and Porsche-Museum.

The University Stuttgart can look back on a long tradition in civil engineering too. Outstanding researchers like Emil Mörsch, Otto Graf and Fritz Leonhardt have taught and worked there.
Today the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering wants to face modern demands with the vision of “Green Engineering Design” and aims to combine strong background orientation with applied research
